Gac is a nutrient-dense tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia, traditionally valued for its vibrant red colour and rich carotenoid content. It belongs to the gourd family, alongside pumpkin, melon, squash, and cucumber.

The red aril (fruit flesh) is particularly rich in naturally occurring carotenoids, including lycopene and beta-carotene. Research has found the aril to contain exceptionally high concentrations of these compounds, with studies also reporting high bioaccessibility of Gac carotenoids under simulated digestion conditions.

Additional Information

Gac is used in our formula in a small, carefully controlled amount. We use only the red aril (fruit flesh), not the seeds or outer rind. This allows us to incorporate Gac as a concentrated source of naturally occurring carotenoids and vibrant colour. Research specifically investigating Gac in dogs is currently limited. We therefore take a conservative approach, using Gac only in a small amount within our formulation.
